At Activate Locate, trust and integrity are at the core of our mission.
As a veteran-led and patriot-driven platform, we are committed to full compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Membership Tiers

Community Members (CivPop): Basic sign-up (email/phone).

Verified Assets: Members may voluntarily provide proof of service or background (Veterans ID Card, Defence Discount Card, SIA Licence, DBS certificate, or Emergency Services ID).

Command/Leadership Roles: Require a current DBS check for safeguarding.
2. Trust Levels (Stars)
Trust levels are assigned to members who:

Provide voluntary proof of service/licence, or
-
Demonstrate exceptional leadership and consistent community security support within the CSN.
⭐ 4★ Trust – Verified member or recognised contributor.
⭐ 5★ Trust – Enhanced verification (DBS checked) or proven exceptional leadership and safeguarding role.
Star ratings are visible within the app only and used to strengthen trust in the network.
3. Data Handling

Verification is voluntary and based on consent.

Submitted documents are stored encrypted and deleted once verification is complete unless ongoing proof (DBS) is legally required.

Community-based star ratings are decided internally, without retaining sensitive documents.

Members can withdraw verification or their star status at any time.
4. Purpose of Verification

Trust levels identify experienced, verified, and outstanding community contributors.

Ratings strengthen integrity and ensure confidence across the CSN.

No personal documents are ever shared with third parties without explicit consent.
5. Lawful Basis

Consent: For voluntary proof submissions.

Legitimate Interest: For DBS checks in safeguarding roles.

Community Assessment: Based on behaviour and contributions within the CSN, not on sensitive personal data.
6. What We Do Not Collect

No birth certificates or official MoD records.

Only data necessary for trust and safeguarding.
